Today celebrates the one year anniversary of Young Readers’ debut EP Family Trees! In honor of its birthday I’m holding a coloring contest with some pretty awesome prizes. Check it out!
Your artwork will be displayed all over the world via iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, LastFM, and anywhere else my EP is available for download/streaming, plus a private show during a stop on my next tour in the Fall.
2nd and 3rd Place-
Will receive a private show during my next tour this Fall. Throw a little party with your friends or keep me all to yourself. The choice is yours!
Last year I spent 3 weeks in my room with 2 microphones and handful of instruments and recorded Family Trees. Each physical copy of the CD is printed and hand pressed on construction paper and comes with a little box of crayons which allows the listener to color the album the way they see fit or rack their brains on the 22 bank word search on the back! Now is your chance to be a world famous color-er!
Below is the link to the cover of the album. Be CREATIVE! I’ve already seen some really great versions of the album colored with everything from watercolors down to the only 4 crayons in the box.
1. Print the cover.
2. Color your heart out.
3. Scan and send to firstname.lastname@example.org
I will be posting pictures of submissions on my Instagram and Facebook pages to prove that I have the best and most talented fans around!
The contest will end on Saturday April 6th and the winners will be announced on Friday April 19th. Due to the complications of the Internet, artwork for iTunes and Spotify might not be available for a few weeks after the announcement. But I will keep everyone posted with the progress. If you’re like me and have a hard enough time drawing stick figures, feel free to invite your friends to the Facebook event page or share the contest rules from my Tumblr page. Just because you can’t draw, doesn’t mean you cant get your friends to win the prize for you. :)
Also, here is a link to Family Trees which I’m told is great coloring music. :)
I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Today is the day that we’ve been waiting for. My new EP Family Trees is now available to download for free at http://youngreaders.bandcamp.com/ Physical copies will be available at all of my shows during my little 3 week tour and also at many stores throughout the region. I’ll make a post sometime when I get back home with a full list of local places where you can pick one up. Best part is, all the physicals are FREE too! Feel free to download the artwork from the Flickr page. http://www.flickr.com/photos/76812334@N08/ Something tells me there might be a coloring contest soon. ;)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the EP and hopefully I can see you at a show sometime. Here’s the bank for the word search on the back artwork.
